Traditionally, MLTs that work in microbiology are responsible for studying tiny living things - such as bacteria, fungi, parasites and viruses! Pretty much anything that can cause infections in humans. MLTs have developed a skilled eye that is good at detecting, identifying and helping treat those nasty infections.

WHAT IS MICROBIOLOGY?

BUT in our case, microbiology is the candy kitchen of the lab... MLTs grow candy on Jell-o trays, test their ingredients and find out if their candy grows!

First thing we want to do in our micro candy lab is to choose what type of jello we want to grow our candy on
click on a jello plate to learn more about them and the candies that grow on them!!

Choosing a flavour is IMPORTANT, it allows for different candies to grow or show their true colors!

(because no one wants a green fuzzy peach)

Strawberry Jello

Most of our candies like to grow here - a common choice

choosing this jello means your candies will likely come out exactly how you like them!

Chocalate Pudding Jello

This jello is only used with some candies because they can grow better on chocolate pudding.

This means that certain candies can only be made here so be careful

Pink Raspberry Jello

This jello is so sweet that any candy that grows on here will

lack sweetness, because they are so sour!

So be prepared, while it looks delicious, the candies play a trick!

Okay now that we know what each jello type is like, and what kinds of candies will grow on them, we must now get to know what candies we can make!

Here are the kinds that we can grow
